&Pseudogout=Pseudogout is a calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate (CPPD) crystal deposition disease. Acute CPPD (pseudogout) manifests as a severe, sudden-onset mono- or oligoarthritis with erythema, swelling, and pain, much like gout. It can involve any joint but most frequently affects the knee. Subacute attacks can involve more than one joint. Chondrocalcinosis may be seen in cartilage on x-rays of knee, shoulder and wrist.
