Trauma proceeds in approximately 50%25 of cases. Usually affects distal limb with pain that is described as burning or tearing in quality. Described as abnormal pain sensitivityÑallodynia. Diffuse swelling of the affected limb is common with changes in temperature (ie, feels cooler to the touch).
